Four Arab American Women Who Are Making History During Women’s History Month: Yumna Jawad

As we approach the end of National Women’s History Month, we express our gratitude to the four remarkable women we’ve featured this month. We’re excited to continue highlighting Arab American women who have made significant achievements throughout history and those who are currently making history today.

Our last #WorkforceWednesday Arab American Woman spotlight for this series is Yumna Jawad and her business FeelGoodFoodie.
Yumna’s journey to entrepreneurship began when she started experimenting with cooking and creating healthy recipes inspired by her mother and her culture. With a passion for cooking and a desire to positively impact the food industry, Yumna set out to create FeedGoodFoodie.

Since launching 9 years ago, FeedGoodFoodie has gained a loyal following and featured in numerous media outlets like the Today Show, the Food Network Channel, Good Housekeeping, and The Wall Street Journal. Yumna’s commitment to sustainability and using locally sourced ingredients has garnered attention from customers who appreciate her business’s health benefits and environmental impact.

What makes Jawad’s story particularly inspiring is how she has overcome cultural barriers to pursue her passion. As an Arab American woman, Jawad has had to navigate stereotypes and expectations that may have prevented her from pursuing her dreams. However, she has
become a role model for women everywhere through her perseverance and dedication.

Women like the four we showcased are inspiring examples of the strength of unwavering determination and commitment, and we can all learn from their stories. Let us continue celebrating and supporting women everywhere as we work towards a more inclusive and equitable future and inspire future generations with their stories.
