Our keynote speaker is noted author Anne Doyle. Anne is the author of POWERING UP! How America’s Women Achievers Become Leaders. She is a journalist, speaker, businesswoman, elected official and mother who has been on the front lines of women’s progress for over four decades. From TV newsrooms to sports locker rooms, from corporate board rooms to congressional hallways, from Los Angeles to Saudi Arabia, she has honed her journalism, business and political skills in some of the toughest leadership laboratories for aspiring women.

The Arab American Business Woman of the Year for 2016 is Joumana Kayrouz, founder and owner of the Michigan Center for Personal Injury and the Law Offices of Joumana Kayrouz PLLC. She is one of the most recognized attorneys in Michigan. She built her career on a combination of legal savvy, hard work and a sincere empathy for the financial, physical and psychological needs of accident victims. She is as a pioneer in her field, effectively breaking down barriers to reach out to those in need of her services and growing an immensely successful enterprise.

  Arab American Women’s Business Council Accepting Scholarship Applications Through November 11th

 

The Arab American Women’s Business Council (AAWBC) is accepting scholarship applications from Arab American female college students and high school students in Michigan who have been accepted to college. The deadline is November 11, 2016. Since the program began in 2008, the AAWBC has provided more than $20,000 in scholarships to young Arab American women studying a variety of subjects to assist them in advancing their education.

Applicant Requirements

  • Must be of Arab descent.
  • Must be a current Michigan-based undergraduate or graduate student or high school senior accepted into a Michigan college or university for the 2017-2018 academic year.
  • Must submit the entire application by November 11, 2016, or sent by email by 5:00 p.m., November 11, 2016.
  • Scholarship recipients will be required to volunteer for 6 hours of community service to support any AAWBC annual activity.

Arab American Women’s Business Council Announces Laila Alhusinni as Arab American Business Woman of the Year; Theresa Ghafari as Keynote Speaker Hosts 9th Annual Networking Breakfast November 5, 2015


Detroit – The Arab American Women’s Business Council will hold its 9th Annual Networking Breakfast on Thursday, November 5, from 8 to 10 a.m. at Byblos Banquets in Dearborn. Highlights of the event include keynote speaker Theresa Ghafari, president and CEO of G­TECH Services, college scholarships to Arab American women and the 2015 Arab American Business Woman of the Year Laila Alhusinni, founder and journalist, U.S. Chaam Media and U.S. Arab Radio.

 Arab American Women's Business Council Elects Renée Ahee as First CEO


DEARBORN, MI, March 23, 2015 – The Arab American Women’s Business Council (AAWBC), founded in 2007 as a 501c3 nonprofit professional organization, elected Renée Ahee as its first chief executive officer, effective March 15, 2015. Ahee is a co-founder of the organization, whose

 mission is to bring together Arab American business women of diverse disciplines and industries and to provide opportunities for them to grow professionally and to grow their business through leadership, education, scholarship, internship and cultural programs. She has been a member of the board of directors since its inception.
